Review for group hd video audio conferencing

Price was $916.00. The product is great for the price. I only wish there was a better cord management solution for this device. We have a "convertible" conference room. The tables go in to multiple configurations, so the cords are always in the way. The sound quality is great and the the fact that people can "sync" their mobile device to be used as a speaker and mic is an awesome feature. The camera movement is a bit clunky, but picture and zoom quality are great. . Five stars if not for the cords.

Excellent quality. Love the audio. It is better than what we had before. I would love for it to be able to zoom out a little bit more. I would also love to be able to control it from the viewer side, as opposed to the people in the room controlling it (zoom, pan, etc. ). #Logitech 915 000162 Rechargeable Discontinued Best group hd video audio conferencing | Logitech-Personal Computer Review ( Sep 2019 ) Benefits Logitech Group HD Video and Audio Conferencing System for Big Meeting Rooms Amazingly affordable video conferencing system: all-in-one design brings professional video conferencing to any meeting space. Logitech group hd video and audio conferencing system for big meeting rooms Review (960 001054)

Installation was easy. The device is easy to use. Everything is straight forward. Video and audio is crystal clear. Bluetooth function is solid. We use it with webex and skype for business with no issues. Meeting quality is very good with crystal clear video. There is plenty of wiring and a hub to connect eveyrthing to. I would like to see the wiring and cabling be standard connections such as usb and what not just in case you need to lengthen or shorten the cables with aftermarket. Otherwise, this is a great solution if you are looking to add video conferencing to your business. -Y. Hakala

Logitech Group Conferencing System Meeting Personal Computer

PROS
  • This thing is a beast, and a lot of items have been well thought out. . You get a main 'connector', and into that plugs in a camera and a microphone base. . Camera - comes with a mount to get it up higher, can be mounted as well. It's a full pan tilt zoom camera, with a huge optical zoom built into it. You can control this from a skype plugin on the computer, from the remote, or from the microphone base. You can also setup saved presets for the microphone (i. E. Group wide shot, presenter shot, etc), which is pretty nice. The quality and the optical zoom are great. Wish it had the ability to try to follow the user as some of logitechs other cameras do, but maybe that's coming. . Microphone base - this is the brains. It can accept two more microphone inputs for a larger conference room (and there is a package that includes those). It's quite solid and thick, won't easily get pulled off a table, and has enough weight so that when you are pressing buttons it doesn't move, which is great. Has remote sensors on the corners, microphones on the corners and quite a good speaker. Depending on the application used, information is shown on the screen what is connected. Big green/red lights around the speaker itself show if you are on or if you are muted. . The package as a whole has a lot of cord length for plugging in items, letting you move the camera and base station quite a ways from each other. . So now the stuff that's not so great. It has to plug into a computer. While there might always be a computer in the conference room, it means that it's basically a really fancy microphone/speaker that you select on the computer audio selector. Would be nice to be able to do standalone skype/gotomeeting/lync/etc. There is a really fancy huge screen, lots of buttons, and then you end up doing almost everything on the computer anyways. Currently the computer applications are limited to controlling the camera. . Audio/video is great, would be even better if it had wifi/ethernet and some standalone smarts.
  • I have always had a strong positive opinion of logitech products from back when they only did keyboards and mice. They have always had products that looked well designed and manufactured and great instructions. This av conferencing system is no exception and could be a game changer as it is much cheaper than other systems out there but with great components. You get a speakerphone control unit, a remote, a camera with a microphone base and a hub. You can also purchase extension microphone units if you have a larger room. The camera has "zeiss certified" optics - i'm not sure what "zeiss certified" means but zeiss has always had a terrific reputation for lenses (maybe even better than nikon or canon) and this camera produces crystal clear images and you can tilt and pan with and also zoom. Setup and operation are pretty simple and you just plug into a laptop and use skype (or something similar) to get up and running. The one component i have a problem with is the hub - i know it is powered and connects the other pieces together but it just seems to me that logitech could have either figured out a way either to eliminate it entirely or to give it a more active function (like an extra mike or speaker). The annoying hub cost logitech a star. So far, i haven' treally done much with this system other than set it up and check it out - due to dwindling finances in retirement i am starting up a consulting firm with a friend who just got laid off (due to declining oilfield service revenues) - we don't have any clients lined up yet (obviously job one) but we do want our visible interface to be immaculate and this system will be useful when we actually do have a customer to talk to.
  • Logitech Surround Sound Speaker
CONS
  • If not for the cables that are used this would be a pretty good solution. The cable for the camera is too short for a static conference solution. We mounted the camera above the tv and then ran it to the conference table. While the cable is sufficient for this, i wanted to run the cables under the floor and up under the table. Unfortunately it is too short. I needed an additional nine foot. I called logitech for a solution. I wanted to extend the cables, but read where one individual tried it and couldn't receive a signal. Logitech says you need to use the supplied cables and they don't suggest trying to extend them. Too bad. It seems with a little real world product testing they would find this out. Although, if you watch the new microsoft "smartdock" video, it tries to indicate that it solves this problem. Unfortunately the limitation of the cable seems it would also make smartdock pretty useless.
  • Given that you need full duplex functionality and the ability to have multiple microphones, it is certainly a solid working solution, but you need a pc to get it to work. I found it difficult to get my mac at home to recognize the camera, but admittedly this is not targeted at home use. It did work out of the box with windows. I don't have business conferencing software on my mac, so did not bother to further troubleshoot. But this needs a serious design overhaul imo in terms of size and number of cords. . Its really large, and you have wires everywhere! for the camera to be truly functional, you need to use the nice included wall mount at the end of the room, or put it on one end of the conference table, or have another wall table available but then there is a cord which needs to go the central full duplex microphone/speaker phone combo which is ideally at the center of the table. This is ideally a permanent fixture in a conference room once set up. You would need to tape down the wires so as to avoid a trip hazard. The remote control works great to move the camera to focus on the current speaker, zoom etc. So yes, this is a really nice office conferencing solution, needs an admin/facilitator to monitor and use the camera features, or you could leave it zoomed out on the whole table the whole time. . I took one star off for the number of cords and clunky design. I took the second star off for the lack of hook up information. A color coded diagram to match the various color coded cords would come in handy. The small control box in the center seems gratuitous! i see no reason it could not be integrated into either the camera base or the speaker phone base which is giant! while the included wires and connectors are color coded, strangely enough, the arrow symbol on the cable is actually required to face at right angles and not line up to or match up to the arrow marked on the individual boxes/ports in any way.
  • The video quality was good but the power cord was broken the first week we bought it!

group hd video audio conferencing Logitech Group HD Video and Audio Conferencing System for Big Meeting Rooms (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

May 5, 2016. . *. . I set this up for two entirely unrelated groops. One was between our headquarters here in chicago and a branch office in moscow. This worked pretty well. Setup was easy because we all have up-to-date systems running windows 8. 1. The camera worked well after i adjusted it a bit, and the sound from the speakers was also just fine. The muscovites complained at first that they couldn't hear us well, but a bit of adjustment with the microphones fixed that almost perfectly. They speak with an accent, which i think was most of that problem, but please don't tell them that. Also, i wish there were more microphones and longer cords. . The other group i tried to set this, logitech group hd video & audio conferencing system for big meeting rooms (960-001054), up for is all my good friends on the iss, which i miss. It never did work right, what with their all the time floating around upside down and travelling 17, 000 miles an hour and stuff. Still, for as close as it got i recommend this conferencing system if you're on a budget, which nasa is. . *. . I give this product a solid 5 stars for the price.

Unless the conference table seats 16+ extra mikes are not even needed. The zoom on the camera makes it great for small or large rooms. Would have given it 5 stars but the extension cables needed to actually wire a room and hide the cables are crazy expensive. Wish they would have used usb or cat6 instead but then they can't get you for another $400."

(0) Question: Can this unit connect more than 2 sites together? i need to be able to conference 3 different offices at the same time.

(1) Question: Can the system handle two monitors, say one for video and the other for a presentation?

(2) Question: Will this work with skype for business?

Logitech Conference Bcc950 Webcam Speakerphone (log960000866) FAQ.

Works great for our use case of weekly 4 person video calls using skype for business. Previously we did simple voice calls and this adds an immeasurable human touch to the conversations. Clear audio and good video. -Notice from A. Gina, Westminster

Good cameras for videoconference, i have around 10 in our conference rooms working fine!

Logitech-conference-bcc950-webcam-speakerphone-(log960000866) set picture

- . AlmaWe use this every morning, with about 10 people here in the office. The pan/zoom work great. We've used the product with both gotomeeting and google hangouts. The only thing i would say is a negative has been the sound quality, specifically the microphone strength. We're still looking for a better solution than the built-in mic.

Having tried with limited success to point laptops at conference room whiteboards to give remote users a better feel for what's going on in the room, i started my search with microsoft roundtable, which led me to logitech and this device. It does its job very well and is seamlessly recognized by webex and skype as a valid camera and audio device. Further perfection would be:. * wider angle lens. Set at the end of a conference room table, i only get half the participants in the picture. * an option for the remote user to control the pan/zoom. (the remote is for people in the room which is only half the battle. )

C2G/Cables to Go 34019 Extender Logitech Conference Camera CC3000E

The extender for logitech video conferencing systems extends the camera or speakerphone up to 100 feet away from the system hub. This solution requires two standard cat5 or cat6 cables for extension and installation is made easy through labeling and color coding. This extension solution passes the audio and video signals to the logitech hub, but, when extending the camera, it also passes the control signals. These control signals allow the camera to continue to move as if it were directly connected to the hub with the cable provided by logitech. This means that full functionality of either the cc3000e or group systems will be retained at full extension distance. The flexibility provided by this kit adds value and flexibility to the logitech conferencecam cc3000e or group video conferencing systems , making it the perfect fit for almost any application. Note: this extender is designed to extend either the camera or the speakerphone. Two extenders are required to extend both the camera and speakerphone.

F.A.Q. for logitech group hd video and audio conferencing system for big meeting rooms

I'm on the board of directors of a large homeowners association located in arizona. Arizona has some very strict laws about open meetings and some of our members cannot physically attend meetings due to limitations (we're an active adult community). In the interest of being inclusive, we started looking for ways to webcast our board meetings as well as allowing interested clubs to also webcast their general meetings. . Prior to this setup, we used the logitech bcc950 which didn't work well for the large room we conduct meetings in. We have forty in attendance, five board members and over 1, 000sf of meeting space. We limped along with it for two years until moving up to this group system. What a huge difference! the biggest improvement is probably in audio - the microphone does an exceptional job of capturing various levels of talking and quickly and unobtrusively adjusts the level controls. . We use this with the zoom software because it's certified for use with zoom and it is an ideal pairing. The software is inexpensive ($15/mo), simple and records your meetings in their cloud (albeit in lower resolution so you're not taking up gb's of space). The remote for this works from either the front or back of the control unit (speaker box) and the speakerphone function works well for those wishing to use the dial up number instead of the default audio capabilities. . My only non-negative negative is the construction. The camera unit feels flimsy as if one false manual turn of the camera would destroy the motor mechanism. In fact, the first one of these we ordered did not function with pan or tilt and was immediately returned for this working unit. We don't have a lot of need to move the camera much and if it were permanently mounted somewhere, doubt it would ever be a problem, just something to watch our for. . I can remember when getting this level of video and audio quality cost tens of thousands of dollars. I do suggest, to get the most out of the system, that the user have a dedicated laptop with no bloatware, no anti-virus beyond security essentials or defender, a wired connection to the network no matter how strong and fast the wi-fi signal is and that users take some time to review the training and use videos on logitech and the developer of your platform (zoom or whomever). . Our community has right at $2000 invested in the camera, laptop, a/v cart to store it all on and a very nice viewsonic digital projector (also bought from online store! ) and can do a very professional looking "broadcast" with screen sharing and whiteboard capabilities. Add some wireless lapel mics (also from online store) and you can follow a presenter as they move around from exhibit to exhibit. . I'm sure in another few years, there will be even better/cheaper equipment on the market, such is the nature of technology. But, if you are trying to meet the needs of a community like ours, this is a very cost effective way to do so and one that is much appreciated by those that cannot attend various functions in person.

Most of my experience with logitech cameras have been in the portable webcams that are self protecting fold up like the c525 720p which is always in my briefcase along with my microsoft surface and its terrible integrated camera. I work for a company with a presence in every country in the world except turkmenistan. (don't ask me why. I don't know). Travelling is a budget impacting necessity, so for daily constructive collaboration, we rely upon both cisco telepresence and even more so now, skype for business. Telepresence is an outstanding but fairly expensive way to hold video conferenced sessions, so we're testing small room skype for business certified video conferencing solutions that are evolving in the market that can work with our existing infrastructure without the running cost of cisco tp. While polycom is definitely competing well in this niche, it looks like logitech is putting a strong foot forward in inexpensive solutions that leverage its skill in cameras and microphones. . The build quality is solid - metal - reliable. This is something that can be installed into a small conference room with some cable management and last the expected abuse of and active small conference room. The buttons, speaker, and microphones all perform very well. Sound fills the room and there isn't any falloff from participants at the edge of a typical 10x8 small conference room. . Mounting the center of the display monitor at eyelevel and the camera beside seems to provide the best simulation of direct viewing in a skype session. Lighting is very important and always has to be controlled in a videoconferencing room. This unit doesn't perform well with rooms that have direct sunlight or blinds cannot be pulled down, but that's true of all video cameras. So expect this and use a room with controlled lighting. Dimmers will give the best level adjustment. Logitech also has an adjustment application to help with the autobrightness levels, but letting the camera makes its own decisions seems to work best. . The single downfall to this solution is the lack of automatic camera tracking. The camera is capable of preset views using the remote, or active control, but since there is no directional microphone on the camera, there is no tracking or automatic framing of the person speaking. We really get used to that technology in poly-com or cisco solutions. That are more expensive. . The second thing to know is that this is still a computer driven device like most skype for business videoconferencing devices. It requires a pc logged into the skype sessions using this as the external camera and microphone. It's what the market has now, but next gen devices for s4b will be standalone client capable. . Rating: solid performer, inexpensive, good for small rooms and small team meetings. Technically performs flawlessly.

Not very long ago, teleconferencing systems as they were called then cost many thousands of dollars. Now for about a thousand dollars, you can get an audio and video conferencing system produced by logitech that will work in medium to large conference rooms with up to 14 people. (20 people with expansion microphones. ). . Group works with most popular video conferencing applications. My tests were conducted with skype desktop. . Setup was exceedingly simple. My initial setup which included unpacking the components, unwrapping components and uncoiling cables took less than 20 minutes. I estimate subsequent setups will take less than 10 minutes, much less. The system is delivered in a very sturdy and well-organized box, which can be reused for system storage. I would suggest that logitech consider revised packaging with a built-in carrying handle, which would be a convenience for those carrying the system place to place. Suitable handles are also available from a variety of sellers. . There are four primary components: 1) a camera, 2) a cable hub, 3) a remote, and 4) speakerphone with power adapter. A multi-role bracket for use with the camera is also included. Both the camera and speakerphone have kensington security slots. . Custom color-coded cables are used to connect the camera and speakerphone to the hub. A usb cable is provided to connect the speakerphone to a windows or mac computer. . To use, start up your conferencing app on the computer and choose logitech group as your video and audio devices. That s it. There are a few plug-ins available to increase the control flexibility of certain applications such as skype. . The speakerphone contains all the controls for video and audio. (smartphones with bluetooth capability can be paired using nfc. ) the remote control mirrors most of the controls which include pan/tilt/zoom, presets (5), selection buttons for expansion microphones if you use them and a toggle to take control of a compatible unit at a remote location. . All the instructions for using group are contained on one side of a laminated card inside the box. It is really simple. A more thorough set-up guide can be downloaded from logitech. . The camera can be described in one word: superb. It s 10x 90-degree field of view zeiss-certified zoom lens is very sharp and clear. The pan range is 260 degrees and the tilt 130 degrees. . There are four microphones built-into the speakerphone and they are marvelous. Audio tests with a person speaking at distances up to 15 feet from the speakerphone resulted in absolutely clear audio on skype. (much is dependent on your bandwidth conditions, skype responsiveness and all the other usual factors. ). . The unit can also be used purely as a speakerphone, but i haven t tried that capability yet. . It is fantastic how rapidly video conferencing has evolved. Not so many years ago, esoteric systems were needed, along with many thousands of dollars to buy and support them. Now logitech is offering three video conferencing systems for groups of various. . Group is high-end of their current offerings and i think it is superb. Very easy to set up; very easy to use and simply superb audio and video quality. . Jerry

So far we have been very pleased with the logitech group. It's a huge step up from the way we were doing conference calls before, which is a pretty much weekly occurrence. The audio quality is great, especially with the remote mics for our bigger groups. Video quality is good too. Pretty standard for a higher-end webcam. The zoom is pretty impressive. Set up was super simple and it works well with ringcentral meetings (which is essentially zoom meetings underneath). . The build quality is great. I was very pleasantly surprised with how sturdy everything feels. The remote mics are nice and heavy. I was expecting light plasticy things that i was going to have to tape down, but they are very well built and hold themselves down. . My one wish is that the cables were a little longer, but i know we're an odd case with a bigger conference room. Likewise, the lens could be just a touch wider, but i really can't complain. . Overall, we're very happy with it, especially for the price. You can't go wrong with this as long as it fits your use case!

This is an incredible system. It s all inclusive and has the minimum amount of equipment necessary to go along with whatever system you currently have. . I ve used it on both windows and ios-based systems without a hitch. Both recognize the equipment and it really has been integral in all software that we ve thrown at it. Jabber seems to work better than skype for business, but that might have had more to do with the other end (and their internet connection) rather than our end. Using a recent version you can easily use this for facetime as well, which is very handy when dealing with specific people who would rather whip out their iphone. So this has proven to be a very flexible system that can be used in a variety of situations. That s been very handy. . Since this is designed for a lager conference room, i found that the audio almost sounded a little hollow. That might have been because the room we were testing it in was smaller, so all of our participants were closer to the mic. Other than that no audio issues whatsoever. . The video is really nice though. The full featured conference room webcam easily moves with a remote and has a wide view of the whole room. Not a single video issue was noted. . The length of the cords was perfectly suited for what we needed it for and should work in most large conference rooms (depending on where your connections are). Set up is very straight forward and largely plug and play. . And if you re wondering if this works in a home setting as well the answer is a definitive yes but it s overkill.

Q. Patricia, Bayern says

Overall the product is very good and recommended as a best in class and price point for the soho and smb set. . Pros:. Good zoom, stable picture ease of use. All inclusive product, no recurring licensing fees or proprietary lock ins to services. Compatible with all the main industry players (gotomeeting, web-ex, skype etc). Far end control of cameras in matching sets (multibranch multi office deployments will like this feature). . Cons:. No direct ethernet or digital direct tie in - must use usb with special cabling for video-conferences. Hit and miss bluetooth coverage. Sound quality when using bluetooth is on a continuum of ok to awful. Cheesy wall mounting bracket that is better suited to a $50 camera. Camera is very sensitive to being moved. Any move attempts results in the camera immediately returning to the lock position and require a reboot of the hosting pc to reset or power cycling the system. Instructions are nonexistent. Must go through website downloads and third party resources for even the simplest of functions and questions. The ad implies that the camera will track the speaker automatically during conferences. Nope - while you can manually adjust zoom, there is no automatic tracking feature.

R. Edna, Tameside

A few years ago we considered purchasing a audio/video conferencing system. At the time, however, professional-grade systems were out of our budget, so we settled for a lower-end unit. While it sufficed, it was not the quality we preferred. . This new system from logitech is amazing - a professional quality product that impresses our clients and makes collaboration across offices easier. Most of our workforce is in a single location, but a small number of them are scattered in remote locations. Having the logitech system for our home office is helpful for bringing our main team together with others. We've set this up in our main conference room, and remote attendees use their pc mic/speakers to join us. It works well with skype for business as well as with gotowebinar. The speakers are very high quality and we can add more if we move to a larger conference room.

C. Sherry, Hertfordshire says

So far so good! great video and audio solution for our business meetings. Easy to use, and have had no problems thus far. Our users have commented they are happy with the video and audio clarity, and especially like the wide viewing angle during meetings.

D. Guest, Bexley

Great clarity, and much easier to throw money at this than trying to figure out (and support) your own system. The cables are proprietary so you can't try to extend them with a ps/2 cable - don't waste your time. They sell extenders on their site but it's almost as expensive as the unit. Plan your use cases accordingly!

S. Pearce, Staffordshire says

If you're looking for something you can use to talk to friends or family over a webcam, this is probably going to be way more than you need. If you're looking to have group meetings with moderately sized groups (say 8 or so), this is a really nice set of tools. The most expensive/sophisticated piece of the set is the camera, that you can control by remote control. That's actually kind of handy, because if you have a group sitting far enough back so that everyone is visible, it'll be awkward for someone to jump up and make camera adjustments. It looks a lot smoother and more professional to be able to make it adjust from where you're seated. . The rest is basically a central station to control the whole thing, and a microphone (so that it can pick up audio close to where the people are sitting, while having the camera farther in back so they're better in view). If you need to do meetings with really big groups, you'll want the version of the set with an extra microphone so that it can do a good job of picking up audio over a larger area. Don't expect to be able to plug in any microphone that you'd like (unfortunately). . My early experience is that it's a really good set, which is consistent with what i've gotten from logitech webcams and similar products i've bought for myself in the past. It's not very fussy to set up, and they've made a deliberate effort to be sure that it works properly with some business-level video conferencing services to make things easy on you. I think the people who'll get the most value out of it are small to medium businesses and teams. It's expensive, but it doesn't take very many good videoconferencing sessions replacing airline tickets to break even considering how expensive flying is (and that's before you add in the cost of things like hotels, taxis, eating out, and time away from home). . I wouldn't recommend it for home use unless you're looking to do something like hold special family gatherings where you use video conferencing to let someone else kind of feel like they're with the family when they need to be far away. For normal use, a much cheaper webcam (or even the camera and microphone built into most phones and tablets) makes a lot more sense and takes up less space. . So it's a good set, just make sure that it lines up well with what you're hoping to do because even a good product like this is a waste of money if it's not a good fit for your needs.

M. Cageen, Warwickshire

The new logitech group hd conferencing system opens up a whole new world of audio and video conferencing options, at a fraction of the cost of the competition. Previous systems from the likes of vaddio and lifesize usually run around $3500-$4500 for a basic ptz setup. This logitech system offers the av controller with remote, ptz 1080p camera and one mic for under $1000. The system is compatible with almost every video platform, including skype for business (previous lync), bluejeans and more. To clarify - this system still relies on a laptop or desktop with usb to initiate the call, whereas some of the larger systems offer fully stand-alone setups (like cisco). . Call and video quality are great - but they are greatly dependent on your platform of choice. I made several calls using skype, and they looked fantastic, mostly thanks to a robust connection on either side of the call. Regardless of the hardware you use, a bad connection will render it useless. . All in all, logitech has delivered something amazing here - a true hd ptz conferencing system for under $1000. Best of all, the system is relatively modular, so you can add additional components as your setup grows. Operation is easy, you have a system keypad and a remote, it interfaces with all major platforms. The camera stand is a little weak, but you can mount it in a variety of ways using additional hardware.

T. Sheila, Leicester says

We've used these several times for zoom rooms. Aside from the constant issue of the cable being too short between the speaker and base it's great. Logitech will happily sell you an overpriced extender for $99. You use to be able to use simple ps/2 extensions.

P. Wade, Auvergne

I am chairman for a group where we have anywhere from 8-12 people twice a month in a large room. This meeting often involves the need to conference call. Historically we used a simple phone on a desk or an iphone or ipad with facetime. This was obviously not an optimal setting that made conference calls more of a cumbersome annoyance than a benefit to productivity. . Then we began using the logitech conference cam connect portable all-in-one videoconferencing solution for small groups (960-001013). This is an incredible step up from where we were; however, because the audio input and the video are on the same unit, we had a hard time optimizing audio and video. Either everyone could be heard or everyone could be seen, but not both. . Now, we truly have the optimal setup. We can fill out meeting table and every single person can be heard with crystal clarity that does an excellent job of ignoring sounds like rustling of paper and crunching on snacks. The camera is wide angle and can be set back from the audio source or passed around to focus on primary speaker. Regardless, the camera can be moved independently from the speaker and microphones. . We are using this with usb connection to my macbook pro and it integrates with skype, facetime, or google groups well; we just change forum depending on the preferences and needs of those on the other end. By connecting to my computer which is, in turn, connected to the conference room projector, i can make a conference call video-based for both sides by putting the video on the screen, or set it up so that only the other side sees the video (or even just shared screen for collaboration if this is more desirable). For simplicity, the camera can even just be turned toward the projector and it is high enough resolution to broadcast exactly what the rest of the group is seeing. This set is high enough quality to make this simple, low-effort method of collaboration work. . In summary, the audio and video quality of this conference calling solution are superb. It works right out of the box with basically no setup at all. It compares incredibly favorably with other comparable "professional" solutions that truly offer no or very little benefit over this set (especially if you integrate this with other bluetooth microphones for even better audio; i have not done this so cannot speak to it). Conference calls have moved from an annoying necessity with limited benefit to increased sources of productivity and optimized collaboration.

B. Hayward, Cambridgeshire says

I work for a small company that has a lot of remote folks so we spend a good chunk of our time on video calls. We recently switched from using google hangouts to zoom. Us and i was very excited to see the logitech group hd video & audio conferencing system on their list of compatible systems. So far it's been a great experience. Audio quality is fantastic and the video is pretty good too with a solid field of view although i've noticed a lack of sharpness on the displays that we are using. But that could just be because of the displays themselves (60"+ lcd tvs) or the connections that we are using. . We've got a mobile setup so we can roll the video conferencing gear from one room to the next. We added a ups and a mac mini as well asn ipad mini as a controller and it's a near perfect setup. Highly recommended.

N. Jacqueline, Alabama says

Just installed this system for a client with a laptop, 2 55"tvs and an 80" tv as well. System works as advertised and is great for skype, webex, etc. My issues with this system are on the logistics side. My clients conference room is what i would say average size (maybe 16x30) and the included cables are no where near long enough if you are trying to not have exposed cabling everywhere. I purchased the 10m cable for a hundred bucks and a four dollar mini-din adapter. The 10m cable worked as advertised but so did the mini-din coupler albeit with a lot more money saved. If you are attempting to put this in your conference room and want to have a professional looking install order the couplers and the 5m cables for the hub and camera. The last issue is with the microphones. They are 8' which sounds like plenty but if you are trying to route them through a conference table and not have them strung on the table top you are out of luck. I searched everywhere for the microphone extension cables which are a cross of mini usb and micro usb with no avail. Without soldering your own extensions into the cable i am unaware of a solution at this point in time. I was able to make it work, just less slack in the cable like i would have liked. Overall this is a great product and does work amazingly for conference rooms, i just wish there were more options to make the cables longer for flexibility on installation. I will be doing another conference room soon with this same product but will also be ordering couplers and extensions when i order this. Logitech, please make the next model with standard connectors (i. E. Usb-micro or mini or c, cat 5e, cat 6, display port, hdmi, etc) as this is a great product that could be a perfect product!

V. June, Kent

For companies ready to step up from a webcam on a stick for collaboration, this is a very compelling solution for the price. . Audio and video quality are both very good, when i tested with webex and cisco jabber. In fact, video quality rivals much more expensive cisco telepresence solutions, and on a quality connection, the framerate is outstanding. Audio, while very good, is probably still a shade or two below what you'd expect from a midrange polycom speakerphone. . Where the product disappoints, is its reliance on being tethered to a computer. I would have liked to have seen the ability to use power over ethernet and sip credentials to use this as a standalone speakerphone from time to time, or to have tighter lync or webex integration for setting up speed-dial contacts for video or audio conferencing. . Unfortunately, the reliance on a computer means that someone needs to "drive" if you're using this in team rooms where everyone brings a laptop. As a standalone solution for a conference room, you need to leave a computer tethered to it. Sure, you can use just about any computer you have lying around (assuming it runs windows or os x) but it creates maintenance work and an additional point of failure. Imagine you're doing a sales presentation, and the drive on the 5 year-old laptop you have driving this decides to poop the bed on you. It doesn't look awesome as you scurry to find someone who has the logitech software on their laptop. . For business users who are well-versed in whatever telepresence application you use, the downsides aren't major. For those who are used to showing up to a room and pushing a button or selecting a location with a remote, the logitech group system could pose some challenges.

Disadvantage and Critical reviews

Y. Hakala, Hertfordshire says

The software and connections are buggy, even after updating everything. The bluetooth connection to phones, is a headache because you have to remove the logitech from your phone's pairing and reset the connection. We use this in a conference room and it's embarrassing to do this, especially with clients sitting there.

D. Weber, Tameside

This is the second unit we bought. The main speaker quit working on both. I have no idea who to contact for warranty or repair.

O. Fabian, Southend-on-Sea says

Great system, however the cable to the camera is too short for what we need, there is a 3rd party that makes an extension system for it, but they are out of stock until mid april, so we have to wait 4-5 months to use it. Great for small rooms but medium to large conference rooms you need a $600 out of stock extension system.

V. Cunningham, Medway

On the whole the system works well, however not without some issues. We have found that the camera will not properly focus on meeting attendants. At some distances objects on the table are in focus while the person talking is blurry. Also, do not upgrade to the latest firmware version (i'm using mac os 10. 12) i did so and now peoples faces look like they have spent all day in the sun. Literally tomato red flesh tones.

J. Matherly, Virginia says

I purchased one of these for the conference room we are building at my work. Note that logitech uses some kind of proprietary technology for this connection rather than usb, meaning you need to buy this ridiculously expensive cable for your camera or microphone to work. . The advertisement claims it is a 10-meter cable, but don't be fooled: ours was really two 5-meter cables crudely spliced together. Despite being "conduit-routable design, " the first one we ordered broke at the splice when we tried pulling it through our conduit, and we will need to get a replacement. This is incredibly disappointing quality for a cable that costs $100, especially when a powered usb 3. 0 would be around $35 or less. . In short: the cable is of very poor quality, but the only one available for logitech brand cameras / microphones that i have found.

It works and the audio is very good, but has issues with the camera control. The pan/tilt and zoom control from the remote is clunky and unreliable. The remote has to be pointed straigth at the camera to work. Recalling presets makes lots of unnecessary movement: the camera first returns to the neutral position, then pans/tilts to the new preset (and i am using the latest firmware). That looks very unprofessional. Sometimes the pan does not match the preset position, i don't know why, maybe my unit's motor is fauilty. Additionally the 10 m extension cable was barely sufficient to wire the camera in a failrly small room, as i had to wire around a door. Longer cables are not available from logitech.

It got ruined within 11 months of use.

I have two of these systems, one for each of our site's conference rooms. . It works nearly perfectly except for one major design flaw, the proprietary connectors for the hub and camera. The included 15ft cables are unfortunately way too short for our needs, so i cannot wall mount the camera and run out of sight to the conference table. The cables also cannot be extended without shelling out $600 for a kit from c2g. . If you look at the pictures, it shows what looks like ps/2 ports for connecting the camera and hub. They are actually very proprietary-ized usb cables that just share the same physical appearance as a ps/2 port. There are 6 pins, four are usb and two are power supply i believe. Since the max distance of usb is about 16ft, you can't make this cable any longer without that $600 c2g kit since everything is proprietary. . This is a very poor design choice imo because the cables are just too darn short to go where you want them. $600 to extend a cable is way too much to ask when it is nearly the cost of the rest of the system. . If not for this major flaw it would be 5/5
